This Week in Denver: June 1 – 7, 2015

Posted on Updated on

While there are quite a few things happening this week, here are some highlights:

1. Civic Center Eats

Every Tuesday and Thursday throughout the summer (until October 8th, 2015), food trucks of all shapes and sizes will gather in Civic Center Park.

2. Rockies game

If you haven’t checked out a Rockies game yet, you’re missing out. Even if you aren’t a baseball fan, the stadium is right downtown. This Tuesday and Wednesday are the Rockies vs. the Dodgers. This Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are the Rockies vs the Marlins.

3. Farmers Markets

There are a few close to downtown:

  • Cherry Creek: Wednesdays from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 A.M. until 1 p.m. at E. First Ave and University Blvd.
  • City Park: Sundays from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at E. Colfax and Columbine St.
  • South Pearl: Sundays from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. between Florida Ave. and Iowa Ave. along 1500 Old South Pearl St.

4. The Big Wonderful

Right near downtown at 26th and Lawrence, TheBigWonderful hosts a weekly sustainable marketplace. There are live performances, beach volleyball courts, an urban farm, and plenty of small businesses to check out.

5. Denver Chalk Art Festival

This Saturday and Sunday, take a stroll through Larimer Square to see all the chalk art. More than 200 artists come to paint along the streets. Don’t forget to swing into The Market for some ice cream. This weekend in Denver might be in the mid to high 80’s, so be ready!
